Thermal Solar Energy consists in using heat via thermal solar panels. Capturing solar power by panels allows the energy absorption transferring the heat received to a working fluid.
Thermic solutions are aimed to those project which need high heat requirements, where the main resource to obtain from the environment is solar heat. Our experience in short, medium and long projects, lets us to offer auto generation solutions adapting the specific needs of our clients.
The most extended applications for this technology are: Sanitary Hot Water (SHW), underfloor heating system and preheating water for industrial process. Another type of application are water heating for indoor or outdoor, and emerging such as air conditioning or solar cooling feeding pump absorption. Depending on the application we can use different type of collector or panels, which can also vary depending on the complexity of the installation.
This way, we can use ether flat plate solar panels for the typical hot water sanitary applications, vacuum tube collector especially in those cold areas for heat and air conditioning application, polypropylene collectors without a cover to increase bath season in outdoor pools, etc. In respect of installing tools, we find compact devices to provide sanitary hot water to a single-family home to complex installations with heat-carrying fluids other than water, heat exchangers, large storage tanks, etc.
At present we can confirm that the harnessing of solar thermal energy is a mature and reliable technology. In terms of investment it has a pay-back period without subsidies and it is also environmentally responsible.
Those applications that require water temperatures over 80° to 250°, which more are intended to industrial processes, thermal fluids generation, sea water desalination and solar assisted cooling. The wider applicability is the use of especial applications where heat fonts are required and the system can be used as a main Font to support the application.
A large number of mirrors to concentrate the sun’s rays are used in a collector which contains a fluid. When it gets to certain temperature, the fluid starts boiling to reach high pressures to be harness to move the turbine to produce electricity.
There are solar thermal systems applications with no fluid used. They are: solar drying, solar ovens, solar kitchens, which are very useful in isolated areas where the fuel supply is inconsistent.
