Hydroelectric power comes from the use of the kinetic energy and potencial energies generated by water, which generates the movement of the hydro turbines to generate electrical energy.

GEENERA develops their own and EPC contract hydro generation projects. We focus primarily in hydroelectric power plants projects such as hydroelectric dam, hydroelectric pump and peak hydraulic plants. Our presence throughout the value chain, allows as to do a comprehensive development of the projects, rom the resource assessment to the environmental impact, social effects, economic benefits, construction, implementation and operation.

What does GEENERA do regarding Hydroelectric Energy?

GEENERA carries out hydro potential generation macro projects. We have the technological and operational capacity to adapt to the chain value, so we can be in each phase in a hydroelectric power plant.   We are specialists in two types of plants, depending on the energetic function:

Assembling Plant

GEENERA has the capacity to manage complex civil, electric and environmental works, in different kind of assembling, known as: Vault, double arch or double curvature arch. We can also optimized the different type of turbines (Francis, Pelton and Kaplan), well known as the heart of the hydroelectric power plants. Moreover, we have the technical and staff capacity which allow us to undertake huge mega-projects from the beginning to the end.

Pumpled Storage

GEENERA, as an integrated Company with sustainable principles, contributes to the clients, management methodologies and high energy-efficiency. This kind of storages enables energy to be used in those moments where there are resource shortages with the lowest energy usage.

Peak Plants

GEENERA, remaining faithful to the sustainability policies, implements Hydraulic Central Peak projects, with the fact that it allows flexibility to work in any given scenario. These kind of projects are self-controlling and considerate as the renewable energy projects with the most cost/benefit ratio within which can be stored easily.   Furthermore, the Hydraulic Central Peak projects enable the generation of clean energy with less impacts over the environment.
